~personality: Nephry is...somewhat complicated. She's analytical, and can be just as sarcastic as her brother when she wants to be. However, she is genuinely kind, and cares deeply about those closest to her. She's very intelligent, loves to read, and is more than proficient in the sciences. However, she could never quite measure up to the brilliance of her brother, Jade Curtiss. Because of this, she tends to suffer a strong inferiority complex to him, and therefore has little self-esteem. She also has very little common sense. Well, perhaps a better way to say it would be that she is very naïve. She can be too trusting, and her natural curiosity has gotten her into trouble more than once. Also, because she's hardly ever left Keterburg, she tends to be a little afraid of change. ~bio: Nephry grew up in the snowy resort town of Keterburg with her older brother Jade, and in the company of two other children - a fontech genius named Saphir Neis, and the to-be Emperor of Malkuth, Peony the Ninth. She, her brother, and Saphir were all taken in by Gelda Nebilim - an Oracle-Knight-gone-teacher - for private classes, where they flourished (both intellectually and emotionally), and Peony made it a point to sit in on these classes. These times are by far Nephry's favorite to remember. After Nebilim's death, however, and their 'family' began to break apart, Nephry was the one to stay behind. Adoring Keterburg with every fiber of her being, she decided that she would do everything she could to make sure that the resort town stayed as it was, to make sure it was never exploited by nobles. For a time, she was in a relationship with Peony, but between her commoner status, his having to ascend the throne, and the Score forcing her to marry another (a wealthy Count; Victor Osborne), they were unable to stay together. They still care about one another and are close friends, however. More than anything, Nephry misses those closest to her--Jade, Peony, and Saphir--though hides that behind extreme workaholism. 31 now, she still governs Keterburg, though Count Osborne has since passed on. |
